August hosted an

to fix climate change. August was also very warm with heat waves across the world.

I along with some friends (Click 'About') participated in this hackathon, and we made

.

The idea was to build a map application that shows parts of the current climate crisis (like green house emissions, current crisis like Amazon rainforest fire etc). Hence, creating a holistic awareness about the climate situation but also providing specific contextual details of areas that a user might be interested in.

We chose Phoenix as a mascot for this project because it symbolizes fire (and hence the heat) but also resurrection signifying that there is still time to reverse our actions.

I have a fear. As a project the team that we assembled couldn't find enough time to build the app as we imagined. I hope that as a collective society we will be able to address the issue.

It was really great to see many

submitted in this hackthon.

It is also great to see individuals doing selfless work in conservation and environment area:

End of this hackathon is not the end of working for the cause for us. I will spend considerable time on this topic in coming years. If you want to join forces, please feel free to

to me.
